Casino Group to open 210 stores in Morocco by 2035

Casino Group, which owns and operates over 7,500 convenience stores in France, has signed an agreement to open around 210 Franprix and Monoprix shops in Morocco by 2035.

The company has formed a deal with H&S Invest Holding, a Moroccan group operating in logistics, real estate and manufacturing.

The move is part of Casino Group’s international expansion strategy to increase the number of franchises outside of France.

The first stores will open in 2026, with a focus on quality, convenience and a high proportion of local products.

H&S Invest Holding said that the partnership is part of its aim to diversify its retail division, bringing digitalised customer experiences and innovative concepts to Morocco’s convenience market.

Casino Group already has around 472 franchised stores outside of France, representing a 3.5 per cent of its net sales in 2024.

“This partnership with H&S Invest Holding is fully in line with our strategy of expanding internationally through franchising and it illustrates our ability to leverage the strength of our brands, our logistics know-how and our expertise in convenience retailing in a market as dynamic as Morocco,” said Philippe Palazzi, chief executive officer of Casino Group. “Thanks to H&S Invest Holding’s deep local roots and solid operations, we will be able to rapidly roll out a network of high-performance convenience stores in step with changing consumer habits in Morocco.”
